One of the nation’s largest outbreaks in years of the parasitic infection cyclosporiasis has sickened people in 31 states, and the latest development involves Taco Bell.

WASHINGTON — Taco Bell is preemptively and voluntarily removing some produce items from their menu at select locations as the multi-state cyclosporiasis outbreak is investigated.

The foodborne parasitic infection can cause explosive diarrhea and is suspected to have sickened nearly 7,000 people across at least 34 states.
