ATLANTA (AP) — Lionel Messi scored his eighth goal of this year's World Cup on Tuesday against Egypt, extending his scoring streak to nine consecutive games for Argentina and moving to the top of a tight Golden Boot race.

Argentina is through to the World Cup quarterfinals after one of the most remarkable comebacks, scoring three late unanswered goals to defeat Egypt 3-2 in a rollicking Round of 16 contest in Atlanta on Tuesday.

Enzo Fernandez headed a stoppage-time winner as Argentina produced one of the great World Cup comebacks to beat Egypt 3-2 in Atlanta and reach the quarterfinals. The Chelsea midfielder snatched a thrilling win for the reigning champions in the second minute of added time after his side had trailed 2-0 in the 79th minute and looked to be crashing out.

Rob Green rightfully ripped VAR in the Egypt and Argentina game as a goal was taken off the board in the World Cup.

With one of the most perfect kicks of the tournament, Sidney Lopes Cabral scored against Argentina to tie the game 202 in extra time of the World Cup.
